Ideal

Every now and then, I take a departure from writing prose. Below you will find a “poem”—it’s really a rap verse—I wrote a few weeks ago and just finished recently. For as long as I can remember, I’ve always been a writer. When I was younger, I used to rap. In fact, I wanted to be the next P. Diddy, had my own record label and everything. Still, I decided to “hang up my microphone,” if you will, for a series of reasons, none of which I feel inclined to divulge in this particular blog posting. In any case, this work of art is entitled “Ideal.”

(That picture below, by the way, is at least seven years old!)

She’s high fashion

Looks Kardashian

Knows what I want

But doesn’t mind asking

Walks like a model

I lead

She follows

Attends cocktail parties

But doesn’t pop bottles

Don’t smoke neither

Reads at her leisure

Good credit score

So I hand ma’ the Visa

Show her to the family

Take her to the church

Till death do us part

For better

Or worse
