When You Know Better, You Do Better

What Chris Brown did to Rihanna was savage. There's no excuse, and I'm not letting him off the hook.

You shouldn't, either.

Sure, he's 19.

Still, at 19, you're old enough to know right from wrong.

He should know better.

At 19, this young man has already enjoyed a ton of success within the music industry. What's more, he had the chance to make an even greater name for himself.
In fact, I predicted he would soon enjoy Usher-status. Now, his career is virtually over.

My heart goes out to Rihanna. She has now joined the scores of women across this country, and around the globe, who suffer at the hands of abusive men.

At the same time, I'm tired of hearing women defend Chris Brown. But she loves him, they say. Well, if she loves him, I say, she needs to leave him!

Right now, he's a danger not only to her, but also to himself. When you read stories about a man bloodying, beating, and biting his girlfriend, I think it's fair to say that something's a little off.

If you read up to this point, I'm sure you can feel my anger, leaping from off this computer screen.

Yet, I'm not the only one who's enraged.

Jay-Z, the man who introduced Rihanna to the world, is also a little -- how should I put this? -- livid. At least that's what CelebTV.com reports. (Peep the video above.)

P.S. - Ladies -- especially all of the Rihannas out there, the women who have been abused, either verbally or physically -- just remember, you deserve better. And things can be better if you so desire. Your Prince Charming is out there. Why lower your standards?

  1. Its easy to say that we'd leave him. But in love things get complicated and what seems so simple just ins't when it involves the heart. I believe that all women in abusive relationships should leave. But at the same time I understand why they stay. Loving someone... even if thier not good for you... and feel so good at times that you let the little bit of good cover up all the bad.
